Welcome to Daughter of Sarcasm! 🤗

This is our first blog post (how exciting! 😆). One of the main ways we wanted to bring you as viewers the same excitement we have for the brand was for you to read (and see, future hint hint) what we do and who we are! Daughter of Sarcasm is very small and has loads of room to grow, with that will come a lot of mistakes and lessons to be learnt. Which is why me (Amy) wants to share this journey with DOS viewers.

In short DOS is currently, a blog and a gift shop (watch this space 👀) as a brand I have created beautiful and hilarious designs to make everyone smile.

Firstly, lets introduce the crazy mind behind Daughter of Sarcasm's future! Hi 👋🏼, I'm Amy and I created the idea of DOS and I am slowly executing this idea. As a 23-year-old marketing student, I am quite literally full of ideas and have a lot of room to grow.

I started university later in life compared to my secondary classmates. In all honesty I was set on never going to university and starting a career like a 9 to 5 and going up in life that way. But as everyone does, you learn the hard way that that’s only a dream and not the realities of adult life. After college, and apprenticeships and landing myself a good starting career as a business administrator I had this unsettling feeling that it wasn’t what I wanted to do forever.

I feel in my late teens/early twenties and still,  there is a lot of pressure to pick a career path and stick with it, much like laying down the groundwork for your future earnings for decades. Social media has a big part to play in this. You see people who are younger than you, more successful than you and gain a sense of career envy for a 15-year-old. It doesn’t stop as you get older, you’ll see people with ‘Side hustles’ making hundreds of thousands a month through different channels which you have no certainty on whether they are real or scams. I don’t know about anyone else, but I have this constant feeling of being left behind financially. If these side hustles are real surely, they can only get you so far? But that’s a conversation for another day!

With all this flooding my mind I started searching. I looked online into many, many career paths until I narrowed it down to three; entrepreneur, event planner and marketer. I couldn’t choose between one, I had an interest in all of them. I investigated it further and decided that I could accomplish all three by venturing down the marketing path. I told myself that if I got into university then I would take it all the way. And what would you know, I was accepted onto the university’s foundation course (this was a bumper course to help you get onto the degree level). Now looking two years back I’m glad I made that decision, even if my degree doesn’t majorly help me get to my end career goal, I know I am going to look back and not regret this decision.

Beginning my degree, I went in thinking I would become a marketer, but the more I learn and the more I research and the more I want to be in control of my own career. My own brand, my own company. And that someday what I am creating is going to help and inspire crazy minded people like me get to be in control of their career and their own finances.

Why Daughter of Sarcasm?

If asked, What kind of person is Amy? My friends, family and loved ones would say I’m kind-hearted, thoughtful, funny, creative and most of all sarcastic. I guess you can say it’s built into my personality.  Life can make you become the funniest of things, and mine happens to be sarcastic. I always want to make to people smile and laugh, even when life gets tough because the best way to get through most things is with laughter. The darkest parts of my life so far, have always been made lighter through laughter.

This is where the idea of Daughter of Sarcasm was born. Creating products that people can get for themselves or for someone they know that will bring a smile and laughter to their face. Daughter of Sarcasm won’t only be an online store front, I want to create a place where anyone can smile and laugh with no judgement. Starting with this blog.

Daughter of Sarcasm will become a place where people can come to escape their darkness and find some light through laughter.

As of this moment, DOS has many exciting things in the works to make this dream a reality. In the meantime, make sure to keep smiling and bring laughter to everywhere you go.

I would like to thank everyone for their support in this dream, and I cannot wait to see who Daughter of Sarcasm is going to grow into.

Amy.

Daughter of Sarcasm.

Don’t Take it Personally.
